In August 2018 we commenced development at the Kata beach location creating a unique dive resort for beginners with a purpose built private dive pool, this is due to open in late October 2018. The resort will offer affordable rooms with onsite restaurant, massage with the advantage of being 100m from the main Beach at Kata.
This refresher will take you less time than you think! It is completed at the dive resort in our private pool or while diving from the beach at Kata (1 dive) or on a boat day trip (2 or 3 dives).
Phuket dive tours are one of the few dual scuba diving agencies in Phuket that offer scuba diving courses from both PADI & SSI having received 2 awards in 2017 from PADI who proudly recognized both our outstanding contributions to the diving industry as well as awarding us the PADI 5 Star rating. The Scuba Skills refresher provides all certified divers including PADI SSI BSAC SDI with a safe and enjoyable way to refresh and update safety and skills, especially if it has been a while since your last dive..
It can also provide non-certified open water referral diver students with another practice session before participating in their open water training dives.
These academic materials review some of the information you learned during your open water diver program, and are designed to supplement the in-water portion of the refresher program.

Who qualifies for a refresher course
Any diver from any training agency who is already certified can choose to complete this program for open water certification level they already hold provided the program involves in-water training.
Divers can choose to use the program materials just to refresh their knowledge and Re activate their passion for scuba diving.
SSI has provided these materials free online training to everyone to ensure that you have the best possible experience from your Scuba Diving Refresher
Talk to your instructor before your refresher class begins, and discuss your expectations for the update program. They can adjust your in-water experience to focus on skills that you may have forgotten, or to review skills that may be useful for your next dive adventure.
The use of modern-day mobiles and tablets are making it easier for people to refresh scuba divers knowledge and skills that you may have forgotten before going on a diving holiday or day trip. This short course will simply make it easy for you to get back into diving safely and bring back any confidence you may be missing.
The Scuba Diving Refresher program is fully digital and made up of two components:
- Knowledge review for safe diving habits
- In-water skills.presentations.
The open water refresher skills for this course include.
- Mask removal and replacement
- Demonstrate neutral buoyancy and hover
- Air sharing ascent
- Any other skills the diver would like to practice, or the dive professional feels they should need.
Refresher recognition card.
If divers complete both components of the Refresher course, our professional staff can then issue a “scuba skills update program” a digital recognition card you can access on your Phone to officially prove you as having completed the Scuba Diving Refresher program. This you can then have on your phone as proof of the refresher.
Options for the in-water skills section of the course.
Divers can choose either a refresher course at the dive pool we have next to the dive Shop half Day Beach diving (when conditions allow) or open water full-day boat diving as part of the course, meaning that you are spending a full day out diving with your Instructor.
