Chalong Bay is immensely popular as an intense boating destination and an ideal natural spot for yacht mooring, recently spending 5.8 million baht to install new moorings in Chalong Bay.. East Coast shoreline makes it rather unsuitable for swimming.
Coral Island and Racha Yai Island are a few minutes away from the shore with daily speed boat tours, and is a good destination for a day trip when visiting this part of the island. Chalong as a departure point for snorkeling and Scuba diving mornings and late afternoons are the busiest times at Chalong, when diving and snorkeling day trips depart and return to the bay of Chalong in the evening, the nightlife really starts to kick off.

How to get to Chalong
Chalong is located South of Phuket town and just east of Kata beach in the South corner of the island. Travel from any of the local Phuket beach resorts by taxi or tuk-tuk in which case the driver will wait for you to bring you back to the hotel but agree a price beforehand.
