Coral Island Local Diving around Phuket

Coral Island (Koh Hey) is just a short 15 to 30 minutes boat ride south of Chalong Bay, Phuket) The islands is one of the Local dive sites and the region’s closest islands. Coral Island is accessible all year round for Scuba diving and one of the most promoted and frequently visit diving locations for scuba diving for beginners.

Although the area may disappoint certified seasoned diver it can be accessed for beginners wanting to Try local scuba diving. The islands sheltered and also one of the few local Phuket Diving day trip to be open regardless of the weather.  The generally short distance from phuket and calm seas make local dive conditions good for the best part of the year

Diving at coral island takes place off the 2 white sandy beaches on the north side and at the rock at the east and west tips on the west side of the island.

Marine life is sporadic and limited

Visibility is average a to poor (only 5 to 10 meters)  hard coral growth is quite well in some areas.

There are also some good snorkeling and scuba diving spots here especially on the south side of the island.
